How Do We Reduce Avian Fatalities as Human Construction and Aviation Activities Increase?
As you can see, windows and other human obstacles are the leading causes of bird deaths. Window collisions kills over 900 million birds a year! This is about 10% of the total bird population. Tower kill is also especially concerning, since 52 species impacted are on the Bird of Management Concern List. As humans continue to build more structures, this problem will just keep on getting worse.
